Week 13: Freakin Gansos

Image
Just like that we jump into transfer two... not to be trunkie but a measley 15 more is a peice of cake. --> Transfers came and went this week and everyone in my district got a new comp barring me and Elder Webb. Our district now has 4 of 8 people who all started our mission 3 months ago (bienviendos Elder Winder, Cabo!) And it looks like me and Elder Webb are just gonna keep chugging along here in good o'l Piribebuy! --> Alright, I am gonna stop here and take a second to talk about Geese, Gooses whatever. We were walking along a pretty common little side street this week in Piribebuy when these two geese came out of nowhere anf started getting all up in our face, sticking their neck out, squawking and geese (gansos in spanish) are freakin scary!! Anyways, they freakin would not let us get by and so right as we turned back to just go around... cause there was no getting by them haha, a friend of ours we hadn't seen in over a month and had stopped teaching came out of her h...

I Go On Splits With A Cockroach, 7 = Silence, And I Age A Bit

Image
As Gallacher would say: "What's up Yall's?" I'll jump right in.  To start for those of you were anxiously asking yourself "Will he fold and buzz cut for his first haircut in the Mission?"  I bring good tidings of great joy... my first haircut  actually turned out awesome haha and was far from a buzz. Tuesday we drove into Asuncion to renew our visas so.... we stayed the night at the mission office and woke uo at 5a Wednesday morning to go to immigrations ( apparently all missionaries in Paraguay were living here illegally or something like that...) We were in and out of visas by 8am and then just sat around with the office guys and our zone waiting for our ride. That was until we got a picture of some Old lady on my like legit legal Paraguay Visa .  ndeeee (dang in Guarani) like what?!? Looks like I have aged a bit since I got here or something. So, with this minor setback we were told we'd have to go back to immigrations the next morning to fix it...

Shouldn’t Have Drank That Water

Haupei Yall's! It's weird were already talking transfers this next week!  Not much to much to report this week but heres a few snidbits: --> Tranfers are next week!! I will stay in Piribebuy, but there are alot of rumors going around that Elder Webb my comp is going to be a ZL so stay tuned this next couple of weeks cause things could be changing! --> My comp got really sick Monday Night from drinking the water. Basically, the water here can give you parasites and tapeworm and all that nasty stuff so we were at the Pension all day Tuesday and Wednesday. Which was awesome for me to do somethings I have not gotten to do since I got here and I gotta study ALOT, even watched President Nelsons Birthday Celebration thingy which I thought was an awesome change of pace!! --> Sunday was amazing! I got to bless the Sacrament and President Calderwood came to the ward to reorganize the branch presidency. He said to watch out because either me and my comp will probably get called a...

Week 10: *Insert Awkward Silence*

Image
Woahhhhh! Just like that I am on my 4th week here in Paraguay, and week 11 of my mission! I will say its wackk Nathan that your still at the MTC. Couple epic things from this week... First, Tuesday we had splits and I went with a comp that only speaks Spanish... and I was leading in Piribebuy. Whichhhh was quite the adventure. We ended up getting turned around by my mapping skills and couldnt find no one but it was a good time! We also got to have a baptism this week. Well sorta... he is an 8 year old named Jonas and his mom is inactive but still wanted him to be baptized and his grandpa and uncle are super active... sooo we spent like 3 hours Friday night filling and cleaning the font ( and perhaps freestyle rapping about the gospel)  The baptism Saturday was chaotic. And its sad because the branch here and stuff, but church and events are super poorly attended so it was a little disheartening to see how few members came to support him... but was still a wonderful first baptismal ...

Es La Pelota!

With that I have been a missionary for 2 months! WACKK. In some ways it feel´s like I just started yesterday, in others like I have lived here my whole life.  First, we walked alot this week! We have one friend who lives like way out in the middle of nowhere on top of a hill, and a couple of nights we were walking for an hour, hour an a half just to get to her house. Her name is Jazmin and she has been getting taught by the missionaries for a year and a half now. The only thing stopping her from getting baptized is she is living with someone she is not married too. The miracle was we decided we would all fast together so she could recieve an answer and after a fast all day Saturday into Sunday, we got a text from her saying she got an answer, is going to break up with her boyfriend and probably be baptized as a result! Her daughter, Alejandra is also so precious! We were at their house sunday night and we just kept throwing a tennis ball to her and everytime she would say ¨es la pe...
