Week 34: Que Kachiãi

When the lights and electricty of the whole town go out the morning before Church, you know it will be a memorable Sunday.

And it sure was.

Without air conditioning, lights or a speaker the sacrament meeting began. A faithful congergation waving makeshift fans to cool down. The Paraguayo Missionaries on the this email list would understand the brutality of sitting for 30 minutes in the un conditioned chapel till half way through the meeting, the lights turned on again.

To be honest it was a precious experience for me, the windows were open shining in natural light into the chapel. The Spirit was there as the people, sweating a little, took there seats and listened to the prelude music I got to play. There genuine comittment and faithfullness to come to church, without lights, some without water in their houses inspired me. Would I have come to church back home? Would you have gone? Knowing it could be 90+ degrees the whole meeting?

The lights and air did evenutally come back on... then back off... then back on again... startling an older lady who was in the middle of giving her talk when it all happened.

Later this memorable Sunday, we had the baptism of Antonio. It was a bit kachiãi (funny) because Sebastian, a newer convert and friend of Antonio baptized him and after submersing him he slipped and they both fell entirely into the font. Afterwards he looked up at us, the wittnesses, and we told him "all good" complete submersion. The Spirit was so strong seeing the smile the two of them had, having a little laugh in the process of it all.

Other Noteworthy Things from this week:
- One of the Hermanas almost died (sorta did die) but she´s all good now
- Zone Conference and Interviews destroyed our Tuesday and Wednesday... but were fire
- Had 8 people stay with us, and we may or may not have had a pillow fight.

Clawson started it....

- Had a lesson in Portugese with an amazing couple from the coast of Brasil
(better said my comp had a lesson in portugese while I just sat and watched him cook)
- Ramon came to church Stringam.

I love you all!
