Week 29: Gosh It's Hot.

Gosh it's hot out here.

Like you got the sun and just below that is the obscure south american jungle country that I am living in. And allegedy it only gets worse.

Anyways, it's been quite the week.

Tuesday, I turned 19 and a little later this last week I hit 200 days. Both of which were a little surreal. 19 feels fetchin old. For my birthday we had consejo de distrito and I got a cake smashed mercilessly into my face and I also had divisions with Elder Thomas in the rain, dropped some fechas and ended with lomitos at a resturant that also had an nba game playing.

The rest of the week was a grind.

Friday I had an interesting experience. We were contacting and didn't have alot of direction so we both stopped, prayed and each of us picked a house we felt prompted to contact on our map.

A little later, we contacted a house and an older lady and her son let us in. We taught a lesson about the Book of Mormon, and at the end asked if she would like one, and up to this point everything had been going great... but she turned it down, told us her church would never accept it, and that she was not interested. Absahed, we left only to reconsult our map and see that this ladys house was the exact house Elder Stringam had felt prompted to contact earlier... by not even meaning too we had contacted that house.

What does this teach us about the nature of our Hevenly Father?

For me, it taught me how sometimes, part of the test is seeing if we are willing to be obedient EVEN WHEN it turns out to be a strictly catholic old lady. Could the Lord have directed us straight to the escogidos ik Franco (the people that are ready)?

Yes.

But he didn't.

Perhaps he wanted to see if we were willing to act on spirtual impressions we recieve, trusting in the
For in my eyes, the Lord is just as focused in our journey as in our destination. It's all a matter of faith. The faith we have in trial, will be the same faith that exercises miracles in our lives.

I LOVE THIS PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURE PLEASE READ!!!

"13 And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage. 14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions. 15 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord."
