Week 15: Angelic Pizza And Secretary Barragan

Heyya Yall's! Elder Ralphs here!!

Wonderful things are happening here in Piribebuy!

For starters, we have two friends who are getting baptized this upcoming Thursday (more on them next week) but what that meant was Friday we spent 2 and a half hours filling up the font by HAND cause the water at the church is broken. But we also got access to a speaker the church has and so we just listened to music and bucket by bucket filled up the font.

And to end the night off, we thought we were out of money ( cause the mission for some reason just decided not to pay the missionaries yet haha) but I found a stash of cash I had pulled out from my card back home and we ordered litterally heavenly pizza!

On top of that my comp has basically become the secretary of our branch so we spent a full hour and a half Friday helping our new branch president and counsler get church accounts which lead to some very funny conversations between a 19-20 year old Asian American from church headquarters in Salt Lake and two 70 year old Paraguyos with Elder Webb as a mediator.

One evening this week we went and visited this one lady we have been teaching for maybe 2-3 weeks now and when we got there her 7 year old was playing with toy guns and what started as us just us "pretend" shooting turned into an all out war when the 12 year old got involved and soon me and Elder Webb were running round and round the house as the little kids would peek around corners and we would fall dramatically to the ground. Needless to say, my shirt and pants will never quiet be the same haha. I just love the people here!!!

In Alma 44 we read of the miraculous victory of Moroni and his army over the armies of the Lamanite King, Zarahemna. After surrounding the Lamanite army, Moroni calls for a cease of the battle and sues for peace. Moroni then says: "[N]ow, ye behold that God is with us... [And] ye see that this is the true faith of God; yea, ye see that God will support, and keep, and preserve us, so long as we are faithful unto him... and never will the Lord never suffer us to be destroyed..." (Alma 44:3,4)  These verses really was a powerful reminder to me as it should be to you that God will never allow you to fall as long as you are faithful to him. God sincerely is ready to catch anyone that leaps in faith towards him. I know it. I have lived it!! Jesus Christ lives. He is not some far away theological concept, but a very real person who can work wonders in our lives right now.

Love ya guys as always

Adios
