"But Daggnabit I Like English!"
HOLA A TODOS! This is it by next week mas or menos I will be in the Mission Field, probably on some farm deep in Paraguay! To think my MTC experience is already coming to a close is tragic! I will def miss the consistent meals and this wonderful spirtual enviroment. I absolutely adore this MTC! I love the peace that comes from there being at times like 50 or so missionaries in total at this MTC. I have had so many awesome spirtual experiences and have had seen miracles here. I will forever remember this place.
This week we started our full full full Spanish Immersion... basically we had to sign a contract saying that we would only speak spanish, and the punishment is that if someone gets caught speaking English, everyone BUT him or her has to do a 30 second plank and everyone else has to look on shamefully, mourning there terrible decision and watch everyone else suffer. It has been quite funny haha. The problem is we all sorta LOVE talking to each other in English haha no english at the dinners is so hard.
Some of the Latinos have started to call me ¨BYU Basket¨ because me and some of the Latino Elders had a conversation about BYU basketball and they were basically saying how bad they are haha and I told them many a times that they were mentirosos!! AKA absolute Liars!
Today we got to go to the temple as we have gotten to every Pday so far which was just a WOW experience for me. However, when we got back and were gonna start on our just everyday pday things they had the stairwell cut off by tape. Welll turns out that there were flees in one or two of the dorm rooms so they were fumigating all of our rooms essentially gassing up our room with toxic gas and so we could'nt get upstairs. So, for about 2 and a half hours it was just 20 americans, not really any latinos anywhere somehow, just wandering around an emptyish mtc with no phone or scriptures. Mildly tragic but quite an adventure.
We also had Fast Sunday this week, which was a miraculous 24 hours for me. I played the Sacrement Hymns in Church and it was just a miracle for me how that all went down! We also got to all bear our testimonies including President Jarman and returning Elder Jarman his grandson who was still a missionary. And the testimonies were really lead by the spirit and POWERFUL.
I love this gospel! My new favorite fasting verse is Isaiah 58:6 and I would invite you all to read and study that verse cause it led for me a very powerful verse as I fasted to "loose bands of (personal) wickedness, undo heavy burdens, (help) the oppressed go free, and break EVERY other yoke" hindering my capacity to be an effective missionary and others capacity to come unto christ. Sorry this email was so rushed!!! Again only 3 hours of pday thanks to some flees, poor communication, and ya know some casual toxic gasses (we could literally see it steaming off the building)
Love you all,
